IT'S NOT ESSENTIAL
During confinement, a man leaves his home to go shopping. On the way back he finds metal boxes at the foot of a trash can in front of a cinema closed for health reasons.
In one of these boxes a few scraps of super8 film, a family photo and a Soviet passport.
Intrigued, he takes the boxes to solve his mystery.
This film received the award for best experimental film at the New York Nil Gallery festival in January 2022;
He was also rewarded with an honorable mention at the Video Art an Experimental film of New York in October 2021.
Movie film
Durant le confinement, un homme sort de chez lui pour faire des courses “essentielles”.
Sur le chemin du retour, il découvre, devant un cinéma fermé, des boîtes métalliques abandonnées. À l’intérieur : des pellicules Super 8, une photo de famille, un passeport soviétique.
Intrigué, il les ramène chez lui et tente de reconstituer le puzzle d’une mémoire oubliée, à travers des images sans son, des fragments de vies étrangères, des bouts d’histoire.
Une fiction née du réel, où l’objet devient récit, et le film lui-même devient archive sensible.
